    La prise de la Bastille, un tournant de la Révolution française

    La fête nationale française est l’anniversaire de la prise de la Bastille le 14 juillet 1789, un tournant de la Révolution française. L’armurerie, la forteresse et la prison politique médiévales connues sous le nom de Bastille représentaient l’autorité royale au centre de Paris. La prison ne comptait que sept détenus au moment de la prise de la Bastille, mais elle était considérée par les révolutionnaires comme un symbole de l’abus de pouvoir de la monarchie ; sa chute a été le point d’orgue de la Révolution française.

    The Storming of the Bastille, a Turning Point of the French Revolution

    The French National Day is the anniversary of Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789, a turning point of the French Revolution. The medieval armory, fortress, and political prison known as the Bastille represented royal authority in the centre of Paris. The prison contained only seven inmates at the time of its storming but was seen by the revolutionaries as a symbol of the monarchy’s abuse of power; its fall was the flashpoint of the French Revolution.
