    Albert Marquet (1875–1947) war ein französischer Maler, der für seine leuchtenden Meeres-, Stadt- und Landschaftsbilder bekannt war. Als enger Freund von Henri Matisse begann er als Fauvist, bevor er einen weicheren, natürlicheren Stil entwickelte, der Licht, Wasser und Atmosphäre mit Eleganz einfing.
