Exhibition: Toulouse-Lautrec and the Pleasures of the Belle Époque Date: February, 8 – May, 6 , 2018 Venue: Canal de Isabel II Foundation , Madrid. Frustrated and unsuccessful, an artist laments in an illustration in the German satirical magazine Simplicissimus issued in 1910: “You know, if one were a Frenchman, or dead, or a pervert – best of all, a dead French pervert – it might be possible to enjoy life!”.
