    Rembrandt et la Tulipomanie

    Au XVIIe siècle, pendant que le reste de l’Europe s’enlisait dans divers conflits, la Hollande, appelée Provinces-Unies à l’époque, était en plein essor économique et culturel. Tout y était plus prospère : la tolérance religieuse et la liberté d’opinion étaient de mise, le domaine des sciences progressait, l’art était à son apogée, tant et si bien que cette période fut qualifiée d’âge d’or néerlandais.
