    La peinture mexicaine n'est devenue internationalement reconnue qu’au début du 20e siècle. Ce fut le mouvement muraliste, à partir des années 1920, fortement lié à la révolution mexicaine de la décennie précédente, à partir de laquelle de grands artistes comme José Clémente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros et Diego Rivera ont émergé. Rarement l'art a été plus politique.

It was the muralist movement, starting in the 1920s and strongly connected to the Mexican Revolution of the previous decade, from which such great artists as José Clemente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros, and Diego Rivera emerged.
