    Vincent van Gogh è l’archetipo dell’artista martire, incompreso dall’arte moderna. Chi, non conosce la sua storia e il fatto che si sia scattato l’orecchio e l’abbia datto ad una prostituta. La particularità di Van Gogh è di essere famoso ovviamente per le sue opere, pero anche per la sua vita personale che, non ci mentiamo, ci interessa (il gossip interessa sempre). Grazie alle numerose lettere che conserviamo della sua corrispondenza con il fratello Théo, ne sappiamo molto di piu sui suoi pensieri, il suo malessere, la sua vulnerabilità e il fatto che non si sentiva amato.
