Heureusement, la Journée internationale de la femme, le 8 mars, n’a échappé à personne. Cette journée a été créée pour tenter de contribuer à l’éliminer la discrimination à l’égard des femmes dans le monde entier. Il est vraiment difficile de penser qu’à notre époque, cela existe encore, mais des actes horribles se produisent pourtant à l’égard des femmes dans le monde entier, mais la discrimination ne doit pas nécessairement être un acte horrible de grande envergure. Hoffentlich ist es niemandem entgangen, dass am 8. März der Internationale Frauentag stattfand. Dieser Tag wurde geschaffen, um zu versuchen, die Diskriminierung von Frauen auf der ganzen Welt zu überwinden. Es ist wirklich schwer zu glauben, dass es so etwas heutzutage noch gibt, aber es geschehen weiterhin schreckliche Verbrechen gegenüber Frauen auf der ganzen Welt. Aber Diskriminierung muss nicht unbedingt aus großen schrecklichen Taten bestehen. Ich habe kürzlich ein Buch von Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie gelesen, mit dem Titel “Wir sollten alle Feministinnen sein,» in dem sie eine Situation beschreibt, in der sie einem Mann in Lagos, der ihr Auto parkt, ein Trinkgeld gibt. This day has been created to try and help eliminate discrimination against women across the world. Judith the Man Slayer
Men create; women inspire. While men stand behind the easel painting masterpieces rich in beauty, women have simply stood in front to model. One woman, though, Artemisia Gentileschi traversed the barrier. Rather than paint innocent and cheery little pictures, hers is a masterpiece of violence and revenge. Judith Slaying Holofernes depicts the Biblical scene in which Judith and her maidservant murder the General Holofernes in his sleep to save the Jewish people. Artemisia’s painting stands alone in the extreme portrayal of violence, seen in the anguished face of the general and in the vividness of the blood streaming down the white sheets.
