Un été chaud, un bikini chaud
Le 1er juillet 1946 une bombe atomique de 23 000 tonnes est lâchée à neuf heures du matin sur l’atoll de Bikini, situé dans le sud du Pacifique et pratiquement inconnu jusqu’alors. Elle fait sombrer une bonne demi-douzaine de navires de guerre désarmés et en endommage sévèrement au moins autant. Les conditions atmosphériques sont idéales pour le test, le ciel est découvert et il règne un calme plat.
