Serov n’est pas mon peintre russe favori. J’ai plus de tendresse pour Avazovski qui me value une querelle avec le conservateur du musée russe. Nous nous sommes réconciliés avec force vodka. Comme quoi un russe n’est jamais un mauvais homme si l’alcool le prend dans les liens de l’amitié. Ce tableau de Serov, Enfants (Sasha et Youra Serov), qui représente deux jeunes enfants regardant la mer, préfigure une célèbre photo où le tsarévitch scrute l’horizon de la mer Baltique.
