    Tiere essen

    April 26, 2013 / 0 Comments

The Good, the Bad, and the 17th Century

    April 4, 2013 / 0 Comments

Here we are again at the 17th century, the time of Master Rembrandt and his many self-portraits. But, frankly, when I consider wanting to go back in time, I don’t fancy returning to the 17th century. There were a tonne of wars. Famines in Russia, France, and Finland and a plague in both Seville and London. Shakespeare died, for crying out loud – I’m still mourning this loss.     The Good: Jamestown, Virginia was established – which later led to a massacre of 347 English settlers by the natives (essentially score one and only) St Peter’s Basilica was completed Torture was outlawed in England (we’re still waiting for that…

    Where’s The Respect?

    March 28, 2013 / 0 Comments

Animals:  We keep them as pets; use them for food, clothing, and transportation; we travel thousands of miles to see them on safari; gawk at them in zoos; revere them in certain religions; abhor them and call them vermin; experiment on them for medicine and for beauty; work alongside them in certain jobs; use them therapeutically; compete them; bet on them; cage them; free them; hurt them; heal them; study them; and learn from them. They truly are deeply ingrained into our way of life, and have been since the dawn of time. Our treatment of our (usually) four-legged friends, as a society, differs greatly from one country to the…

    Libertadamente Gaultier

    July 31, 2012 / 0 Comments

«The Fashion World…

    Mode – Jean Paul Gaultier

    July 31, 2012 / 0 Comments

    Fashion Passion

    July 31, 2012 / 0 Comments

Fashion is not my thing. I’ve stated before that I am a neutral, solid colour kind of girl. Occasionally I’ll throw on something bright to mix it up, usually a pair of stilettos. Leading me to the point in which I must confess to my deep, inherent, undeniable love of shoes, and, more specifically, boots. (Cue in blaming my mother, who tried to get me to care about blouses, skirts, and dresses as well, but was less successful. Apologies and gratitude, mom!) Once upon a time my friends wanted to go out for the evening; I didn’t want to open my closet, because it can get very taxing as a…
