Sandro Botticellis Gemälde werden oft zitiert, wenn es um die ‚bellezza ideale‘ geht. Dabei ist der florentinische Künstler in Sachen Anatomie nachweislich ein regelrechter Stümper gewesen. Die Proportionen vieler seiner Figuren sind falsch und verzerrt, die Haltungen unnatürlich bis anatomisch unmöglich. Me, myself and I
Numerosi sono gli artisti che hanno realizzato il loro autoritratto. Narcisistici ? Magari. Chi potrebbe essere il migliore modello che se stesso ? Dall’invenzione dello specchio nel cinquecento, gli artisti hanno comminciato ad osservarsi e dipingersi, benchè il termo “autoritratto” dia dal diciannovesimo secolo. Come un’autobiografia, l’autoritratto rivela qualcosa dell’artista, la sua identità, soprattutto una rappresentazione di lui che ci da a noi, contemporanei, un’immagine precisa del suo fisico. „Bedenke, dass du sterben wirst.”
Der Tod und das Sterben in der Kunst – in den verschiedenen Epochen der Kunstgeschichte beschäftigten sich Künstler in ihren Werken mit dem Sterben und dem Tod, vor allem auch mit ihrem eigenen Ableben. Mittels unterschiedlichster Vanitas-Symbole veranschaulichten Künstler ihre eigene Sterblichkeit und hielten diese in ihrem Bildern auf eine einprägsame Weise dem Betrachter vor Augen. Von daher benennt man diese Darstellungen nach einem religiösen Leitsatz „Memento Mori – Bedenke, dass du sterben wirst”. So findet man das Memento Mori-Sujet als Stilmotiv immer wieder in der Kunst, mehrheitlich in Stillleben als in anderen Genren. Warhol, peintre démocrate ?
Andy Warhol est sans doute le peintre qui symbolise le plus l’art américain aux yeux des Européens. Aujourd’hui Barack Obama est devenu le symbole de l’Amérique contemporaine. Comment s’empêcher de leur trouver des points communs ? Obama, président démocrate tout juste réélu, proche du peuple et issu des minorités sociales. Warhol, fils d’émigrés d’Europe de l’est, maladif et isolé par la société étant enfant. Andy Warhol – Masse oder Klasse?
Gestapelte Pizzakartons und zu Pyramiden aufgetürmte leere Bierdosen sich das typische, an Studenten-WGs haftende Klischee – anstelle eines halbwegs akzeptablen Abendessens wird da schnell mal eine Dose geöffnet. Die gestapelten Dosen des Pop-Art-Künstlers Andy Warhols (1928-1987) erinnern jedoch nur auf den ersten Blick an unaufgeräumte Junggesellenbuden, zu akkurat sind die Dosen aufeinandergestapelt, jedes Cover genau dem Betrachter zugedreht.
