2020 is really just going from one difficult situation to another, isn’t it? Many events cancelled, the potential of the second wave of Coronavirus on the horizon. There has been odd weather, protests and political tom foolery, which has all contributed to a year like no other for everyone globally. This thankfully hasn’t stopped creativity and heartfelt actions taking place. We have seen people celebrating key workers, joining in unity to support Black Lives Matter and so many acts of kindness that it has made individuals realise that humans are capable of great things if we stop working against each other. What you probably don’t imagine is a much curvier woman, who has love handles and stretch marks. She doesn’t have the perfect thigh gap, in fact there is probably no gap at all, and her breasts are probably not as perky as you imagined the first woman’s to be. You probably are not thinking that her clothes are a pulling on her hips and that she might look less than perfect. Ich bin ein großer Fan der Straßenkunst. Tatsächlich ist es neben Kunstwerken über Mythen und Legenden wahrscheinlich eines meiner Lieblingsgenres. Es handelt sich um eine vielseitige und avantgardistische Kunst und eine sich ständig weiterentwickelnde Landschaft in der Kunstwelt. Sie bringt Kunst zu den Leuten, die Kunst als etwas sehen, das in Galerien feststeckt, und vor allem bringt sie Farbe in städtische Gebiete, was im Grunde ganz konkret sein könnte. C’est un art polyvalent et avant-gardiste, et un paysage en constante évolution dans le monde de l’art. I am a massive fan of street art. In fact, alongside artworks about myths and legends, it is probably one of my favourite genres. It’s versatile and edgy, and an ever-changing landscape within the art world. It brings art to the masses who see art as something that is stuck in galleries, and above all else it brings colour to urban areas which could essentially be all concrete. Dies ist meiner Meinung nach ein sehr heikles Thema. Es gibt viele Gemälde aus allen Epochen, die Frauenakte zeigen, die die Zurschaustellung ihrer Weiblichkeit genießen, ebenso wie es eine Fülle von Statuen gibt, die Männer stehend zeigen, die nackt ringen oder jagen. Sie werden im Allgemeinen als klassische Kunst angesehen, weil sich jemand die Zeit genommen hat, sie bis ins kleinste Detail zu malen oder zu modellieren, während man sie, wie heute, wahrscheinlich als obszön oder pornografisch bezeichnen würde, wenn es sich um eine Fotografie desselben Bildes handeln würde. Ce sujet est très délicat à mon avis. Il existe de nombreuses peintures à travers les âges qui montrent des femmes nues se prélassant en exhibant leur féminité, de même qu’il existe une abondance de statues qui montrent des hommes se tenant debout, luttant ou chassant nus. On les considère généralement comme de l’art classique, parce que quelqu’un a pris le temps de les peindre ou de les sculpter dans les moindres détails, alors que, comme aujourd’hui, s’il s’agissait d’une photo de la même image, elle serait probablement considérée comme obscène ou pornographique. This subject is a fine line one in my opinion. There are plenty of paintings from through the ages that show naked women lounging around displaying their femininity, equally there is an abundance of statues which show men standing around, wrestling or hunting naked. These are usually considered classical art, because someone has taken the time to paint or sculpt them in fine detail, where as now, if it was a photo of the same image, it would probably be considered lewd or pornographic. Nein, es ist nicht das, was Sie denken, es ist das Wort, das im Moment in aller Munde ist… Coronavirus. Man kann kaum den Fernseher oder das Radio einschalten oder sich an die sozialen Medien wenden, ohne Werbung zu sehen, die einem sagt, zu Hause zu bleiben, oder die schreckliche Situation zu hören, in der sich die Welt derzeit befindet. Worüber wir nicht viel hören, sind die herzerwärmenden Geschichten, die sich daraus ergeben haben. Wir sehen nicht, wie die Welt als eine Massengemeinschaft zusammengekommen ist, um gemeinsam an der Bekämpfung dieser Pandemie zu arbeiten. Non, ce n’est pas ce que vous pensez, c’est le mot qui est sur toutes les lèvres en ce moment… Coronavirus. Vous pouvez à peine allumer la télévision ou la radio ou vous tourner vers les médias sociaux sans voir de publicités vous disant de rester chez vous, ou entendre la situation désastreuse dans laquelle se trouve le monde actuellement. Ce dont on entend peu parler, ce sont les histoires de réchauffent le cœur qui en ont résulté. Nous ne voyons pas comment le monde s’est rassemblé en tant que communauté de masse pour travailler ensemble au contrôle de cette pandémie.
